Synopsis
This is a video diary of the surreal lockdown made by the filmmaker couple who were trapped in a small, rented apartment in Shanghai. In the face of endless madness, the camera gradually breaks free from the window and observes a vast social isolation unprecedented in the country's history.

YANG Xiao
His film works “The Mountains Sing", “Chronicle of a Durian" and “The Suspended Step" have been shown in domestic and international festivals and Exhibitions such as Busan International Film Festival, Hawaii International Film Festival, Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival, FIRST International Film Festival, OCAT and Times Museum. In addition, he is the story-boarder and assistant director of arthouse films such as Kaili Blues and The Wild Goose Lake.
CHEN Sisi
Born in Wuhu, Anhui Province in 1993. CHEN Sisi now lives and works in Shanghai. She works as a screenwriter and director and specializes in using video to look at the social scene. In 2020, she and Yang Xiao founded the documentary group “Badlands Moving Image", whose works include “The Mountains Sing", "Goodbye Language" (sound installation), and “Through The Window”.
