Synopsis
When her partner proposes, Ling responds not with an answer, but with a story from a past life—a haunting confession from her time as a scam caller. As the tale of an unspeakable debt unfolds, we are left to question the line between confession and allegory, and what truth Ling is revealing about her past and their future.

Director's Note
She Said started with a question that hit me like a train wreck - How much of ourselves do we reveal to our lovers, and what does that revelation look like? This question found fertile soil in a love scam-call syndicate. I believe this phenomenon has become pandemic because it is modern society’s answer to loneliness, longing and the increasing blurring of lines between truth and fiction.
Ivan TAN
Ivan Tan is a writer-director from Singapore. His first short film Tadpoles won the jury prize at the 66th Locarno Film Festival, the first for Singapore. Subsequently, he studied directing at the National Film & Television School (UK) under a national scholarship.
