Director's Note
I’ve always been fascinated by my mom’s quirks and her dangerous obsession with Feng Shui. Inspired by our yearly rituals of rearranging the house for good fortune close to Chinese New Year, this story reflects my desire to understand her as a person beyond just being my mother. This film aims to capture ordinary people in chaos, mixing comedy and tragedy with a touch of luck. While it seeks to break down the invisible barriers that divide us, it's also a tribute to her — A reminder of her vibrant energy despite her age and our unique bond.

Guided by the curiosity for how we see each other, Zachary’s works orbit between Southeast Asian cosmologies and myths. He sees cinema as a form of behaviour. Driven by agency, instinct, and tenderness, Zachary finds interest in the strange, the intimate, and the miraculous absurdity of life and knowledge that is deeply rooted in the human experience. Passionate about bold narratives, he continually seeks new ways to engage with cinema.
