Irreversible penetrations, repeated collisions, intense touches and adhesions…. bring both life and death.
Director's Note
For years, I have felt that many animated films are overly obsessed with providing the decorativeness and visual comfort of “movement”. In this film, I intend to challenge this tendency by using delicate animation to magnify the truth and power “stillness” can provoke. At the same time, I design an open narrative structure, inviting the audience to freely interpret the film.

SHEN Jie
Born in 1989 in Shanghai, SHEN Jie graduated from Shanghai Institute of Technology in 2012. His animated short films were screened at film festivals around the world such as Venezia, Sakhalin, Annecy, Zagreb, Slamdance, Tampere, Encounters etc. He currently lives and works in Shanghai.
